What is a healthcare hackathon?

A healthcare hackathon is an organized event to give medical professionals the opportunity to collaborate with cutting edge technologies and its developers and designers.

Who attends?

Medical professionals, software and hardware developers, GIS specialists, UX and UI experts, VR & AR developers, web and mobile app developers, Internet of Things (IoT) developers, government officials and policy makers, and anyone interested in improving the healthcare industry.

What technology is at a hackathon?

Attendees are required to bring their own laptops, desktops and other gear (hardware/software) that they normally work with. The latest high tech tools will be provided for prototyping by the hackathon organizers, supporters, sponsors and fellow community members.

What kinds of solutions are made at a healthcare hackathon?

The types of solutions created at a healthcare hackathon have varied greatly in the past. Everything from VR therapy applications to patient education applications. The organizers will be providing 2-3 overarching themes for consideration to develop under, but it’s not required to work under only those themes.

Will there be prizes?

Yes, we are currently putting together some prize offerings for the hackathon. As an extra thank you for participating at the hackathon, all hackathon participants will receive a complimentary pass to the conference taking place on October 7-8 in the same venue.
